Annual Meeting
It has finally been decided that our ALLUNY Meeting will be held
Friday and Saturday, September 15th and 16th at the Holiday Inn, Saratoga
Springs, New York, starting with registration Friday morning at 10:00 A.M.
In accordance with the vote taken at our last meeting, we are now
on a sustaining basis. This means that a registration fee is in order
and this year will be $10.00 per person, which includes luncheon and the
banquet on Friday. For breakfast and luncheon, if any, on Saturday, you
will be on your own. The rates at the Inn are $12.00 for singles and
$16.00 for doubles.
The Judicial Conference of the State of New York is holding a
workshop for Supreme Court Librarians in connection with our meeting
and some of you will be invited to attend this workshop. Invitations
for this will come to you directly from the Judicial Conference. The
dates for this workshop are Thursday, the 14th, starting at 9:00 A.M.
and running through noon on Friday, the 15th. The Friday noon luncheon
will be joint between those attending the workshop and those coming for
the ALLUNY Meeting.
The program in accordance with the wishes of last yearls meeting,
will be a panel discussion on library reseouces in the New York area,
including Gifts & Exchanges and Legislative Reference. Our President-
elect Balfour Halevy, is hard at work on this program. If you have any
suggestions that would help him out, send them immediately to Mr. Halevy,
Phillips Stewart Librarian, Phillips Stewart Library, bsgoode Hall Law
School, Osgoode Hall, Toronto 1.
Last year we appropriated $100 to be used on a scholarship basis
for deserving librarians to attend the ALLUNY meeting. Applications
or suggestions as to who should be included in this program should be
sent as soon as possible to me at the Appellate Division tLw Library,
525 Hall of Justice, Rochester, New York 14614.
Local arrangements committee has in hand practically all the de-
tails of the meeting, including registration, transportation, meeting
rooms and reservations. These hard working girls are Margaret Poland
from Troy, Eleanor Smith, from Schenectady, assisted by Alice Meehan,
Librarian at Saratoga Springs. All of the details, including reservation
cards, brochures, program, etc., will be in your hands on or before
August 1st.
