Should the definition of pledge he stated as written, or should the purpose of pledge merely be stated as for security, or should the word act be substituted for the word duty, or should the pur- pose of a pledge be stated as securing the payment of a debt, the performance of some other duty, or dis- charging a liability, or should some different revi- sion be adopted? 2. § 1. Should the statement of the purpose of pledge be revised to cover unmistakably a transaction where there is no personal obligation to the pledgee, for example, by substituting performance of some act for performance of some other duty, by stat- ing the purpose as securing the payment of a debt, the performance of some other duty as the discharge of a liability, or by some other change in languagel 3. § 1.
