Questions Suggested for Discussion at
Ninth Annual Meeting
May 7-9, 1931
Discussion is not confined to the questions pre-
sented here. You are earnestly requested to raise any
further points which occur to you.
1. Section 150.
Under this Section interest created by the owner
of a term of years and measured by a life or lives in
duration, are not estates for life. Is this a useful
differentiation?
2. Section 153, Comment b.
Is it agreed that the rules of construction stated
in this Comment as to when language creates an estate
of inheritance in the first conveyee, a substitutional
devise or an estate for life, are comprehensible and
accurate?
3. Section 159, Comment a.
Under this Comment cross-remainders are to be
implied both as to wills and deeds. Is the application
of this rule to deeds a position which the Institute is
willing to endorse?
4. Section 162.
Should the owner of an estate for life be restricted
to the measure of damages herein stated in an action
brought against a third person for damage caused by
