DEFENSE OF THE ACTOR'S INTEREST IN HIS
POSSESSION OF REAL OR PERSONAL
PROPERTY [AND OF HIS INTEREST IN
THE UNIMPAIRED PHYSICAL CONDITION
C THEREOF].
Section 1. The intentional invasion of another's
interest of personality is privileged if inflicted for the
purpose:
(a) of preventing the other from [intentionally]
depriving the actor of his possession of real
or personal property,
(b) of preventing or terminating another's kkr
teaMeywA] intrusion upon the actor's posses-
sion of real or personal property,
[(c) of preventing anther from [intentionally]
causing material harm to the physical condi-
tion of real or personal property which is in
the actor's possession [or to the immediate
or future possession of which the actor] is en-
titledj
Comment to Section. 1 (a): This Subsection deals
with the privilege of committing that which but for
the privilege would be an actionable assault, battery
or false imprisonment for the purpose of preventing
another from depriving the actor of his present posses-
sion of real or personal property. It applies, there-
fore, only to a case in which the actor is in possession
of such property. The privilege to commit what wouhl
otherwise be an assault or battery for the purpose of
