handle is hein.ali/recrts0001 and id is 1 raw text is: PREFACE The paragraphs in this )amphlet are intended to show in a convenient arrangement the use of the American Law In- stitute's Rcstatemcnt by Courts in their opinions. They arc arranged in alphabetical order by subjects and include citations up to January 16th, 1934. Sonic of the citations are to the Tentative Drafts of the Restatement. The official Restatement of Contracts ap- peared in the fall of 1932 and the official Restatement of Agency in the fall of 1933. The other Restatements have not yet been published in final official form. It is indicated in each paragraph in the following pages whether the citation is to one of the Tentative Drafts. In assembling a list of the decisions vhich have cited the Restatement the Institute gratefully acknowledges the courteous co-operation of the Frank Shepard Company through its President, Mr. W. G. Packard. It also gratefully acknowledges similar assistance from the West Publishing Company. Under the title Some Facts About The American ,aw Institute an appendix states the history of the formation of the Institute and the nature of its project of restating the common law. Much of this material has heretofore appear- ed in the Institute's pamphlet called A Short Summary of Pertinent Facts. RESTATEMENT IN CTS-1 *
