John A. Burke
A former legal editor for Continuing
Education of the Bar, University of
California Extension, at Berkeley, Mr.
Burke is presently a Deputy District
Attorney for Alameda County, Cali-
fornia. He received his undergradu-
ate degree in 1954 from St. Mary's
College, California, and his Bachelor
of Laws degree in 1959, from Hastings
College of Law, University of Cali-
fornia. Mr. Burke is a member of the
Alameda County Bar.
John C. O'Byrne
Professor of Law and Director of the
Agricultural Law Center, College of
Law, at the State University of Iowa,
Mr. O'Byrne is the author of the
FARM INCOME TAX MANUAL and its
Annual Supplements. He has a Bach-
elor of Laws degree from Harvard
University, a Bachelor of Arts degree
from Syracuse University and a Mas-
ter of Science degree from the Max-
well School of Citizenship and Public
Affairs. He is a Lieutenant Com-
mander in the United States Naval
Reserve.
Richard B. Johnson
Mr. Johnson received his Bachelor of
Arts degree from Harvard College
and his Bachelor of Laws degree from
Harvard Law School. A member of
the Massachusetts Bar, he is engaged

in practice as a partner in a Boston
law firm. During World War II, Mr.
Johnson served with the Eighty-second
Airborne Division. He is a quondam
lecturer at Northeastern University
School of Law and is Town Modera-
tor of Swampscott, Massachusetts.
I. Jerome Stern
A graduate of Harvard Law School
and a member of the Philadelphia
Bar, Mr. Stern served in the Claims
Division of the Philadelphia City So-
licitor's Office as Senior Trial Attor-
ney for over 20 years and on the legal
staff of the Philadelphia Transporta-
tion Company for 15 years. He is a
Fellow of the International Acad-
emy bf Trial Lawyers and has au-
thored several articles on trial work
for the PENNSYLVANIA BAR ASSOCIA-
TION QUARTERLY.
Ross A. Sussman
Mr. Sussman, a member of the Min-
neapolis Bar, is a graduate of the
University of Minnesota Law School.
Secretary of the Minnesota Bar Com-
mittee on Fees and Law Office Man-
agement, he recently arranged a con-
tinuing legal education forum on
Building Your Practice. Mr. Sussman
is an associate editor of LAW OFFICE
ECONOMICS AND MANAGEMENT, a peri-
odical published quarterly by Calla-
ghan and Company of Mundelein,
Illinois.
