Dear Mr. Draper Lewis
I take the liberty to send you the paper I
brought to an end. I am far to think that I have it finished. The
more I progressed the more I found out how incoherent the paper
is,that it needs more investigations, the reading and comparing
of more sources, that mere assertions would have to be proved by
by quotations and facts.
But ,I fear that it would turn in an endless
work which I could hardly, master, even to a modest degree in my
now limitated time and you will,on the other hand, understand my
wish to see something finished.
When the first paper I gave you was only a
frame I do not consider this second one as more than a sketch.
With this idea in mind I submit it to your judgement which, I
can only hope, will be as benevolent as you always have been.
Very sincerely yours
