Perkins Chief Justice Veasey has been kind enough to offer me the opportunity to express my thoughts in this compila- tion of commentary an the ALI's Corporate Governance Project. I have accepted his offer, but will limit myself to a few general observations.2 My first thought is one of thanks and appreciation to all those who have made constructive comment in the course of the Project. Some of the most helpful partici- pants are contributors to this issue, but there are many others as well. There is no doubt in my mind that the final product enormously benefited, as do almost all Institute products, not only from the comments of members but also from informed groups and individuals outside the Institute. 1.
