A GREAT CONVENTION IN A GREAT STATE

This year's Annual Meeting was an exciting blend of
sophistication and country western, a program as diverse
as our profession and special events that offered something
for everyone. Despite the heat most convention-goers
ventured out to see the sights. Everything ran very
smoothly, due of course to the mammoth efforts of the
Program and Local Arrangements Committees. Congratu-
lations to all of you for a job well done!
A profile prepared by Headquarters indicates that
attendance was composed of 1,093 members, 64 non-
members and 20 people who paid on a daily basis. Of those
in attendance, approximately 515 were affiliated with law
schools, 290 with law firms, 80 with government libraries,
69 with courts, 60 with corporate and other libraries, 18
with bar associations, and 9 were students. CONELL had
119 attendees and the Thursday workshop had 63. The
exhibit hall was the largest ever - 114 booths representing
87 companies.

Numbers aside, this Annual Meeting was another
wonderful opportunity for new information, ideas and
friends. Every member should make the effort to attend
and participate in these annual Meetings - it's well worth
it.
