handle is hein.journals/hologen13 and id is 547 raw text is: Biographies of Contributors Tuvia Friling earned his Ph.D. at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 1991 and is director of both the Ben-Gurion Heritage Institute and the Ben-Gurion Research Center and Archives. He is the author of Arrow in the Dark: David Ben-Gurion, the Yishuv Leadership, and Rescue Attempts During the Holocaust, and numerous other publications related to the Yishuv, the Holocaust, Zionism, and the early state of Israel. Oscar E. Lansen is Senior Lecturer at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where he teaches war and Holocaust studies and directs the department's educational outreach pro- gram. His primary research interests are Dutch civilians in World War II, Anglo-Dutch civil- military cooperation, Dutch war policy, and history/Holocaust education. He has published in the Dutch and English languages, and is currently working on a book about the liberation and civil administration of the Netherlands. Guenter Lewy is Professor Emeritus of Political Science, University of Massachusetts/Am- herst. He is the author of The Catholic Church and Nazi Germany (1964, reprinted with new introduction January 2000), Religion and Revolution, and other books. The present essay is based on his new book The Nazi Persecution of the Gypsies, published by Oxford University Press in November 1999. Daniel Romanovsky graduated from Leningrad State University and earned his M.A. at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where he currently works at the Institute of Contemporary Jewry's Vidal Sassoon International Center for the Study of Antisemitism. Mr. Romanovsky has published, taught, and lectured on the history of Soviet Jewry before and during the Holocaust.
