United Nations Summit on the Millennium Development Goals From September 20-22, 2010, world leaders convened at the United Nations in New York for a High-Level Plenary Meeting (the 2010 MDG Summit) to review progress and adopt an accelerated plan of action to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) by 2015.1 The MDGs are rooted in the Millennium Declaration adopted by 189 U.N. Member States in 2000.2 In February 2010, in preparation for the 2010 MDG Summit, the U.N.
