Agr International Air Transport Association relating to specific ccmocdity rates RECEIVED Il THE OFFICE OF GENIERAL COUtISEL & SECRTY GW FAB EV TOC NLC RAC C I A HD ELG EG L J .ICP PAR RS MU ket 35634 eement C.A.B. 28811 ORDER An agreement 1/ among various member air carriers of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) has been filed with the Board pursuant to section 412 (a) of the Federal Aviation Act 1958 and Part 261 of the Board' s Economic Regulations. The agreement was adopted pursuant to the provisions of Resolution 590 dealing with specific camiodity rates. The agreement would add specific ccnrdity rates as set forth below, reflecting reductions from general cargo rates, was adopted pursuant to unprotested notice to the carriers, and promulgated in an IATA letter dated July 22, 1982. We will approve the agreement. We would point out, however, that the Board has a rulemaking pending which would establish a standard foreign rate level based on principles similar to those of the Standard Foreign Fare Ievel. 2/ Should this rulemaking be finalized, subsequent IATA rate increases may be denied if they result in aggregate increases over base rates that exceed ceilings determined by the Board. Agreement C.A.B. 28811 Specific Camodity Item No. 0380 Description and Rate 3/ Shrimp 156 cents per kg., minimum weight 500 kgs. Fran Dakar to New York Pursuant to authority duly delegated by the Board in the Board' s Pegulations, 14 CFR 385. 26a: 1. We do not find that Agreement C.A.B. 28811 is adverse to the public interest or in violation of the Act, provided that approval is subject to the conditions ordered; and 1/ IATA Memorandum COMP SCRB 0168. 2/ Docket 37444.
