The Committee on Interoceanic Canals report the following cer- tified copies of charters of corporations of New Jersey relating to ship canals in the Isthmus of Darien, and request that the same be printed as a document for the use of the Senate : CERTIFICATE OF INCORPORATION OF PANAMA CANAL COMPANY OF AMERICA. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, Stof IV f30 JeP8y: We, the undersigned, hereby do associte ourselves into a corpora- tion, under and by virtue of the provisions of an act of the legislature of the State of New Jersey, entitled An act concerning corporations (revision of 1896), and the several acts amendator thereof and sup- plemental thereto, for the purposes hereinafter named, and (o make this our certificate of incorporation. First. The nanme of the corporation is Panama Canal Comp~any of America. Second. Trhe location of the principal ofihcof the corporation in the State of New Jersey is at 76 Montgomery street, in Jiersey City, in the county of Hudlson, andl the name of the agent therein and in charge thereof, tpon whom proces against this corporation may be served, is William Brinkerhohf. Third. The objects for which the corporation is frmed are as follows: To acquire, by purchase or otherwisc, the maritime ship anal of the Compagnie Noue u ide anamn and the rhly aoss the Isthmus of Panama between the Atatic Ocean and the Pacific Ocean; to construct, exploit, complete, equip, repfair, and enlarge: to operate, manage, maintain, and control said canal and railway and the various S.
