At ten o'clock A. M. the prisoner was arraigned at the
bar and plead not guilty-whereupon the following Ju-
rors were called, to wit:

Upon the first juror being called, the State's Attorney
asked the following question,-Ilave you aniy conscien-
tioas scruples to render a verdict of guilty, where the puat-
ishment is death, provided the evidence is stllcient to sat-
