Water Pollution Control Act. Public Law 845. June 30, 1948. (Statutes at
Large, Vol. 62, Pt. 1, 80th Cong., 2d sess., 1948, pp.1155-1161).
An act to provide for water pollution control activities in the
Public Health Service of the Federal Security Agency and in the Federal
Works Agency and for other purposes. Appropriations were authorized to
the Federal Works Agency for grants to states and municipalities for
surveys, etc. prior to the construction of projects.
Water Pollution Control Act Amendments of 1956. Public Law 660. July 9, 1956.
(Statutes at Large, Vol. 70, 84th Cong., 2d sess., 1956, pp.498-507).
An act to extend and strengthen the Water Pollution Control Act.
In Public Law 855 of the same session appropriations were made to the
Public Health Service for activities to carry out the provisions of
this act.

July 20, 1961. (Statutes at Large, Vol. 75, 87th Cong., 1st sess.,
1961, pp.204-210.
An act to amend the Federal Water Pollution Control Act to provide
for a more effective program of water pollution control, and for other
purposes. This act made appropriations for the continuation of grants
to the states. Other appropriations were made in subsequent years for
effecting provisions of this act.
