ACTS PASSED IN FEBRUARY SESSION 1783 - - AT WINDSOR
AN ACT ALLOWING THE RETURN OF TIMOTHY LOVELL
TO THIS STATE
FEBRUARY 19TH 1783
Whereas it appears by the Certificates of Captain Samuel Gilbert
and Samuel Holmes, and other sufficient Evidence, that Timothy
Lovell late of Rockingham in the County of Windham, who went to
the Enemy on Long Island, in April 1777, and returned to the State of
New York the next year (in consequence of which a considerable part
of the Estate was disposed of by this State) is now so far a friend to
this and the United States that he ought to enjoy all the Priviledges of
a Subject of the same: Therefore,
Be it enacted, and it is hereby enacted, by the Representatives of
the freemen of the State of Vermont, in General Assembly met, and by
the Authority of the same, that the said Timothy Lovell be, and he is
hereby permitted, to return to, and reside in this State; and that he
have fully and absolutely restored to him, all the Property belonging
to him in this State, except what has been disposed of to the use of the
same, and enjoy the Priviledges of a Subject in as ample a manner as
if he had never left the same.
AN ACT CONFIRMING THE CONVEYANCE OF A LOT OF LAND IN
WEATHERSFIELD TO ELIPHALET SPAFFORD, GIVEN
BY DAVID WOOSTER
FEBRUARY 19TH 1783
Whereas Eliphalet Spafford has petitioned this Assembly for the
Confirmation of a Deed of a Lot of Land in Weathersfield, given by
David Wooster, which was never acknowledged: the said Wooster is
since dead, and the Witnesses both dead, which puts it out of the
power of the Grantee to procure, in the mode prescribed by the Stat-
ute, the performance of those Ceremonies which compleat a legal
