An Act for the Division of Counties within this State. B E it enacted, and it is hereby enacted by the Representatives of the Freemen of the State of VERMONT, in General AssCmlbly met and by the Authority of the same, That the County of Bennington Bennington edivided, and erected into tCo Counties, in the following oity how be divided n rce notoCutei h olwn ivded. Manner, viz. Beginning at the North-west Corner of Raport, thence running Easterly on the North Line of said Ruport, Dorset, and Brumley, to the County Line between the Counties of Bennington and Lines of Cumberland, all the lands lying Southerly of, and within the Lines Bennington described in an Act, intitled, An act for the establishing County Lines, be County. one distinct County, and known by the Name of Bennington County. And be it further enacted by the Authority aforesaid, That all the Lands Of Rutland Northerly of said Lines described above, within the Lines described County. in an Act for establishing County Lines, be one distinct County, and known by the Name of the County of Butland. Awi be it further enicted by the Authority aforesaid, That the County of Cumberland be divided as follows, viz. Beginning at the South-east COumbland Corner of Springield, thence running Westerly on the South Line of dividd. said Springfield and Chester to the E ist Line of Bennington County, and all the Lands lying Southerly of said Lines, and within the Lines descri- bed by the Act aforesai l, be one distinct County, and known by the Linesof Name of the County of Windham. County. Then beginning at the North-east Corner of the Town of Norwich, thence running Westerly on th. North Line of said Town of Norwich, Sharon, Royalton and Bethel, to the East Line of the County of Of Windsor Bennington, as formerly established, thence South on the said Line to the County. Northwest Corner of Wini'zoa County, as herein esttblish 1; thenceE.sterly on the North Line of Windhzm County to Connecticut-River, thence up said River to the North-east Corner of Norwich, be one diftrict County and known by the Name of the County of Windsor.
