CHAPTER I.
An AcT for the relief of thecommissioners of the town of Sevierrillo, and for
appointing additional commissioners to the saine. [Passed September 5, 1809.]
Preamble. Whereas, by an act of the Territorial Assembly, passed tile
July 1795, Ch. tenth day of July, in the year seventeen hundred and nine-
?. Jan. 1799, ty-five, entitled, An act appointing commissioners to e-

149. rors'to the superior courts, it was 'made the duty of tile
commissioners of said town tomake deeds of conveyances
to the purchasers of lots, conveying to said purchasers ti-
tles in fee simple to the lots by them sold : And whereas,
sdid commissioners have in some instances executed deeds
to purchasers in pursuance of the requisition of said act,
and stand bound to-the purchasers of the reiidue, to make
similar deeds for the residue of-said lots-tthat have been sold:
And whereas, by the laws of this state providing.for the
sale of the lands south of French Broad and Holston, all
the lands in that tract are to be sold at the rate of one dollar
per acre, by force of which last recited act tile said com-
missioners will be bound to pay at that rate for tile quan-
tity of land contained in the plat of survey of said town,
and by them filed in the Register's office of East Tennes-
see, out of their own private pockets, when they entered
into the aforesiaid contracts under.the directions of the
law, and as agents to the state : For remedy whereof:
