And the major appointed to the command of each battalion (hall attend the battalion multers, and my prefide in the courts martial, or may diredt the fenior officer prefent to prefide ; and if he (hould be abflnt, the officer next in rank (hall perform the duties of the major at fuch muller or court martial. Sec. 2. Be it enacted, That each regiment of infantry (ball hold only one regimental muflter in each year, at their refpeaive court houfes, on the Thurfday immediately preceding the firfk day of holding the courts in the feveral counties, in either of the months of September, Oaober, and November annually, except the fecond regiment of Davidfon coun- ty, who (hall hold their regimental muler at the place heretofore pro. vided for by law, on the Thurfdiy fucceeding the court of faid county. in the month of Oa6ober in each and every year.
