CHAPTER 1010.
AN ACT IN AMENDMENT OF ChAPTER 2039 OF THE PUBLIC t'.ssod July 28,
STATUTES, OF OFFENCES AGAINST PUBLIC JUSTICE.  lso*
It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows:
SIcTION 1. Section 16 of Chapter 239 of the Pub-
lic Statutes is hereby amended so as to read as follows:
SEc. 16. Every person who shall falsely assume I'.naty for
or pretend to be a judge, justice of the peace, warden, fjRo cert.lu
sheriff, deputy sherilf alderman, member of any city
or town council, city or town clerk, city or town
treasurer, member of any school committee, town
sergeant, city sergeant, constable, or any other officer
of any city or town in this State, and shall act as such,
shall be imprisoned not exceeding one year or be fined
not exceeding one thousand dollars.
SEC. 2. Thih act shall take effect upon its passage,
and all acts and parts of acts inconsistent herewith are
hereby repealed.
