ADJUTANT GENERAL: SALE OF ARMs, ETC.
ACT authorizing the sale of military arms and equipments, accoutrements and ammunition
belonging to the State of Missouri, and to regulate the same.
SECTION                          SECTION
1. Adjutant General to cause return of State  4. Appropriation for expenses of sale and

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as
follows:
SECTION 1. That the Adjutant General of the State of Missouri
is hereby directed to cause all military arms and equipments, belong-
ing to the State of Missouri, in the hands of the organized Missouri
State Militia, to be returned to him, with the exception of those in the
hands of the militia of St. Louis county and the chief of police of the
city of St. Louis.
SEC. 2. Th6 Adjutant General is hereby directed and empowered
to sell, at public auction, to the highest bidder, for cash in hand, all
military arms and equipments, accoutrements and ammunition be-
longing to the State of Missouri, except two thousand five hundred
(2,500) stand of military arms with their equipments, accoutrements
and such amount of ammunition as he may deem necessary to be re.
served.
SEC. 3. The amount received from the sale of said military arms,
equipments, accoutrements and ammunition, shall be immediately
turned over to the State Treasurer. The State Treasurer shall give
to the Adjutant General duplicate receipts for the amount of money
paid over to him; one of said receipts shall be filed with the State
Auditor and the other to be retained by the Adjutant General.
SEC. 4. That the sum of one thousand dollars ($1000) be and is
hereby appropriated out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise
appropriated, for the following purposes: Four hundred dollars (400)
to pay the freight on the military arms, equipments, accoutrements
and ammunition to be returned by the militia as provided for by
section one (1) of this act; four hundred (400) dollars to pay for clean-
ing the military arms, equipments and accoutrements before the sale,
and two hundred (200) dollars to pay the expense of the sale.
SEC. 5. The Adjutant General shall, as soon as said military
arms, equipments, accoutrements and ammunition are received and
put in proper condition for sale, proceed to advertise for ten days in
