WIlEREAS it is expcdicut that a fai fhould be raild for the
purpofc of dilchargiing th~c debts of tIhis flate, aIId for defray-
ing the expences of government, Be it therc/ort enathd by
the Reprjintatives of tbe Freemen c/ tie State of Georgia, in Genrral Af-
1rmbly mt, and by the authority of the [/m, That 2 tax of twelve fhIl-
lings and fix.pekcc for cvery one hundred pounds value of all lands with-
in this flate, granted to or furveyed for any pcrfun, s fuch lands (bll
be ellimatcd, flull be levied on the fame, according to. the following
Mode, viz.
All tide fivamp, (including iflands) cultivated or uncultivated, of
the firft quality, thall be rated at four pounds fcrntcen flillings pcr acre.
Of the fkcond quality, thrcc pounds.
Of the thitd quality, one pound f(vcrtcen (hillings.-
All pine barren lands adjoining UCh fwamp, or contiguous thereto,
and within thice milces of water carriage, at filicen thillng.
All prime inland fwamp, cultiitel or uncultivated, at an avcrage
of three pounds fCvcn thillings.
Of the Ircond quality, at one pound fcvcntee. ihiflings.
Of the third quality, at fifteen (illings.
Pine barren lands adjoining or contiguous thereto, feven (hliings.
Salt marih, at four thillings.
Hich river twamp, or low grounds, (including iflands) cultivate 'or
nncultivatcd, (including luch as are comtonly called fecond low grounds)
lying above Abercorn, and as high as the mouth of Mi3can's creek, an
Savannah river, of the firI quality, two pounds twelve fhillings.
Of the fecond quality, one pound ten thillings.
