An ad to repeal an Ad, intituled,  An Ad direding the punifinent of
Petty Larceny, and for other purpofes therein mentioned.
SECTION 1.    HX EWERE AS the mode of profecuting and conviting 178S
S T I   of perfons flealing any money or goods under the L
value of five-fhillings, direded in and by the faid ad, is a great deviation Preablk
from the fafe and conflitutional rule of the common law, in regard to the
profecution and convidion of perfons charged with fuch offences; inaf-
much as they are thereby deprived of that ineftimable privilege a trial by
thcir country: And the faid ad is found by pradice to he dangerous to the
liberty, property and credit of the inhabitants of this flate.
SeEL. 2. Belt therefore enaed by the GenlralAfembly of Delaware, That
from and after the publication of this prefent ad, every perfon and perfons
charged with fIealing any money or goods under the value of five fhillings,
their acceffaries, aiders, comforters and abettors, fhall be profecuted in the
fame manner anl form, and in the fame court, and the like proceedings
thall be had, and judgment given againft, and punifhrment inflidted on,
fuch perfons in cafe of conviafion, as are provided and dircted againft a-
ny perfon or perfons convided of felonioufly and fraudulently taking and
carrying away any goods, chattles or effeals of anoth-r to the value of
live Jhillings or upwards, in and by an ad intituled,  An aa againft
