CHAP. I.
An Act scouring equal rights, powers, und privi-
leges to Christians of every denomination in
this State.
-B  E it enacted by the Governour and Council
D 1    -and House of Representatives in General
Court assembled, That whenever any person belong- Certificates to
in- to any society, or denomination of Christians in be lodged with
tills State, Ihall c1oose to separate himself from such town clerks.

other society of a different denomination, he shall, oil
lodging a certificate thercof, with the Town Clerk of
that town in which lie' reides, belong to such society,
or denomination to which he has chosen to join him-
self, and shall thereafter be exempted from bein-
taxed by the society fronx which lie has separated
himself, for any future expences which may be in-
curred by said las. mentioned society.
