ing the Mode Of Proceedings. therein.

Order of Congres, have greatly depreciated in their 'alue, occafi-
oned by fote unforefeen Events taking Place..,, '.Ind whereas fundry
Debtors hate eheavoured to difch age their )'ut Debts by tendering a
I min the Bills aforefaid in their depreciated State, of left Value than
the value of the Sun in which they became indebted, which has been
refufed by the Creditor ; by reafon whereof great Difputes have arifen,
and the oe Party ir the other liable to fuffer Injuflice by a flriBt con-
firuaion of the Laws of this State rilative theretb.
Therefore, purfuant to'a Refolve df thefe United Statei, paffed ii
congress on the twentieth of March, 1780
E it Enafled by the Gobernor; Council, and Reprefentttives iM
General Court alembled, and by the Authority of thefame,
That in all A&,ons brought before any of the Superiour
or County Courts in this State (either by original Wriq
Appeal, or Writ of Error), for the recovery of any Debt
due by Bond, Note, or Book Account, contra~ted before or on the
fifeventh Day of 7anuary, 1780, and where the Defendant in fuch
(A&ion has, between the firft Day of September, 1777, and the i8th
tDay of March, 1780, made a tendry of a Sum in Continental Bills
bf Credit, to the Creditor or Creditors in fatisfaffion of the Debt
demanded, and the Creditor refufed the fame; then and in every
fuch Cafe, the Court before whom fuch Action may be brought,
are hireby authorized to direft fuch Caufe to be heard and deter.
