Disability of  . .:.Be it enacted. by the general assembly, That no person shall be
on veilating capable of holdimg or being elected to any post of profit, trust or emolu-
weii   ..   ment, civil orr mltary, legislative, executive or judicial, under, the
government of this commonwealth, who shall hereafter fight a duel, or
send.or accept a challenge to fight a duel, the probable  issue of wvhich
may bh the death'of the challenger or challenged, or who shall bese-
. bud to;eitheirparty, or shall in anymanner aid or assist in such duel,or
salali be knowingly the bearer of such challenge or acceptance.'
Form o' dueling 2 . Every person elected or appointed to'any such post shall, before
oath.       he acts' in such post,,take the following oath: , I swear that I have not,
since the passage of the act, entitled san act disabling any person concerned
in a duelfron-holding ofce, fought a duel, or sent or accepted a challenge
t6'jlght a duel, the'probable issue of which might have been the death of the
challenge'oi challenged, nor. been knowingly the bearer of such challenge
or acceptdnce' nor'been second to either party, 'nor in any manner aided
or assisted in Such duel, and that I will not be engaged or concerned, di-
rectly or indirectly, in or about anysuch duel. during  my  continuance in
ofice. So help'me Gop.           -
Nonresident   3., There. shall be excepted from the operation of the two proceding
Commissoners sections the case of a person residing in another state who is appointed

governor, ex.  a commisioner by the governor, and such other cases as the aw may

Penalty for fall.  4. If in any case not so excepted, a person elected or appointed to
tag to take oaths, any such post shall act in said post before taking said oath,and also the
oath to support the constitution of the United States, the oath of fidolity
to the commonwealth, and an oath of office, lie shall, forfeit not less
thian one hundred nor more than one thousand dollars.

Gaming by ne. 1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That if a negro play or hot
gre sr _ht  at any game played with cards or dice, or hot on the sides of those who
plersns with  a  n
them, how pu. play at, any such game, or if a white person play or bet with a negro at
nhched.    ' any such game, such playing or betting, although'not tit a public place,
and although there be not lost or won within twenty-four hours a greater
sum,: or'anything of greater value than twenty dollars, shall be a misde-
mneanor.
CHAI;. 107.-An ACT prohibiting the buying, selling or transferring or tickets
or chances in lotteries and radlies.

prttoicts  transferring of tickets or chances in any lottery shall be and the same is
prolit Ited.  hereby prohibited.
Punishment for  2. If, a free person shall set up or promote, or be concerned in manag-
belngconnected ing or drawing a lottery or iaffle, for money or other thing of value, or
oteries or lknowingly ermit such' ottery in any house under his control, or know-
