(Passed January 23d, 1830.) 1. Be it enacted by the General dassembly, 'I'hatElizabeth Lynch, Elizabeth Lynch of the county of Vytlle, shall be, and she is hereby forever di.divoreed. vorced from her husband, James Lynch ; and the power anti au- thority of the said James over the person and property of the said Elizabeth, and over the person anl property of the child of the said Elizabeth, shall henceforth cease and determine : Provi. Proviso. ded, That nothing in this act contained shall be so construed as to prevent the child of the marriage solemnized between the said James and E lizaheth, from inheriting and transmitting inheritance in the same manner as if this act had never passed: Jnd provi. Further proviso. ded, also, T'hat nothing herein contained shall be so confistrued as to authorise either of the said parties to marry during the life of the other. 2. This act shall be in force from its passage. Commencement. CHAPTER 148.-An act divorcing William Simpson from his wife Nancy. (Passed January 25th, 1830.) 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly, That the marriage so: WilliamBimplon lennized between William Simpson, of the county of Montgo divorced. mery, and Nancy his wife, formerly Nancy tHornbarger, shall be, and the same is hereby dissolved, and the said Wiliam forever divorced from the said Nancy; and that all right, interest or claim of the said Nancy in or to the estate, realor personal, of the said William, or any part thereof, shall cease and determine henceforth and forever: Provided, That nothing in this act con- tained shall be so construed as to permit either the said William or Nancy to marry during the lifetime of the other. 2. This act shall be in force from its passage. Commencement. CHAPTER 149.-Ah act divorcing Ann Rankin from her husband, Abner G. Rankin. (Passed February 19th, 1830.) 1. Be it enacted by the General Jssembly, That the marriage so. Ann Rankin di. lemnized between Abner G. Rankin and Ann his wife, late Ann vorced. Fisher, of the county of Augusta, shall be, and the same is hereby dissolved ; and the power and authority of the said Abner over the person and property of the said Ann, shall henceforth cease and determine. But nothing herein contained shall be construed to relieve the said Abner from the punishment attached to the crime of bigamy, if he shall marry again during the life of the said Ann. 2.
