CIIAPTII I,-An act inposing taxes for tile support of governmentt ,

1. lie it enacted by! the General .Assembly, That the public taxes Taxes for 102.
for the year one thousand cight hundred and twenty.seven, shall
be as follows, to wit: on lands, for every hundred dollars value On lands3
thereol, (agreeably to the act for arranging the counties into dis.
tricts, for the eleciion of senators, and for equalizing the land tax,
passed February the eiihteenth, one thousatd eight hundred and
seventeen ; and the act further to amend and explain the act,
entitled, 'an act for arranging the countios into districts, for the
election of senators, and for equalizing the land tax, passed
March the first, one thousand eight hundred and nineteen,) eight
cents; for all houses and lots in town, two dollars and three Cents Hiouses and lots i
for every hundred dollars of yearly rent, or annual value thereof; towns;
for all houses and lots improved, and not rented or occupied, an'd
all unimproved lots in any city, town or borough, eight cents for
every hundred dollars value thereof, agreeably to the above reci-
ted acts, for arranging the counties into districts for the election
of senators, and for equalizing the land tax; for every slave above Stayes 
the age of twelve years, (except such as have been or may be ex-
empt. in consequence of age or infirmity, by the respective county
er corporation courts,) forty-seven cents; or  every stallion or t rs iesessese
jack-ass, twice the price at which such stallion or jack-ass covers
a mare by the season ; for all other horses, asses, mares, mules
and colts, twelve cents each ; for every ordinary license, or Ii. Ordinaries and
