Be it enacted, That the said Jack, otherwise called John Jack, ntherwise Booker, when emancipated regularly and according to law, shall called John look- be and he is hereby permitted to remain as a free man within this er, permitted to reside, as a free Commonwealth, and to reside in the said town of Petersburg : man, in town of Provided, however, That if the said Jack, otherwise called Jolin Petersburg. Booker, shall hereafter be convicted, by the verdict of a jury, and I,vent, the judgment of a court, of any oflence against tile laws of this ad how, this per.
