1. Be it enacted by the General .lssenibl!l, That the public taxes Taxes for 1894

lots in town, two dollars and three cents for every hundred dot- 1t in towns;

proved, and not rented, or occupied bytle proprietor, and all un-
inproved lots, in any city, town, or borough, eight cents .r every
hundred dollars value thereof, agrecably to the above recited acts
for arranging the counties into districts for the election of Sena-
tors, an( for equalizing the land tax; for every slave above the Slaves;
age of twelve years, (except such as have been, or may be ex-
empt, in consequence of age or infirmity, by the respective county
or corporation courls,) frty-seven cents; for every stallion or llorses, asses,
jack ass, twice the price at which such stallion or jack ass covers mnles, kc.

cense to keep a house of private entertainment, seven dollars for.nd licenses to
every hundred dollars yearly rent or value thereof; such rent or kep houss of
value to be ascertained by the commissioners of the revenue, in ment i
the manner prescribed by law : P'rovided, That for no such li-
cense a less sum than eighteen dollars shall be paid: nd pro-
vided, also, 'Xhat, where any house of private entertainment shall
be of less value than seven hundred dollars, but one fourth of the
sum aforesaid, shall becharged for keeping the same : And pro-
uidedfurther, 'at no tax shall be levied on a house of private
entertainment, unless the same shall be situated within a town,
borough, or city, or within eight hundred yards actual distaace
from some public road or highway; for every riding and pleasure Carriageo;
carriage, stage waggron, jersey waggon, and carryall, and harness
belonging thereto, one per centuni on the value thereof, which va-
lue to be estimated by the commissioners of the revenue, in the
mode prescribed by law: Provided, 'hat not less than two dol-
lars shall be paid on each four-wheeled riding and pleasure car-
riage and harness, and not less than ninety-five cents oil each
stage waggon, jersey wafgon, and carryall, with the harness be-
