CHAPTER 138.-An Act for increasing the pensions of John Lain and iewry
Crook.
WIIEREAS it is represented to the General Assembly;
that the petsions heretollore allowed to John Lain ind Hliei
ry Crook arc insufficient to provide them with the necessa.

ht. paid anluatly to the said John Lain, as an increase of his

year 1815, lhe hecatne entitled, by marriage, to two negro
. slaves, then being in the county of Jeffirson and state of
Kentucky ; that lie Ines, sine that period, caused the said
slaves to be renpoved into this commonwealth. but, being ig-
norant of the laws concerning the importation of slaves, he

tieanion of facts, preseribed by the said law, within the time
tlerein required ; and the said Frank Carr having petition-
