Enston ond Dorothy Starer, or to their legal representatives.
2. Aind be it furths, enacted, 'hat the auditor of public ae-

the like allowance was made to lieutenant colouel Richard Kid-
der Meade, another aid of general Gew-g'  Washington.

W HEREAS it appears to the General Assembly that It n'e-
gro miati named 13:leu,      i hIt ei't aind horse, the rOpelty-
or John Dixon of the county of Gloucester, were impressed in
April last in the service of the commonwecalth, and, whilst in
that service, by the horse's taking fright and runuing oil' with
the cart, his leg received a compound fracture, whici bus render-
ed him entirely useless, who was, before the aceideut, a veay
valuable servant ;
1. Be it therefore enaetrd, That the auditor of public accounts
is hereby authorized and required to issue a warrant or warrants
on the tteasury to John Dixon or his represeltaliv, for the sum
of three hundred and fifty dollars, as damagen for the injury
sustained by his slave as aforesuid, to be paid out of any mionice
therein not otherwise appropriated.
r. This act shall be in force from the passing thereof.

of the first or July, at the Rook Landing on James river, was
unfortunately desperntely wounded by one of the members of th
cavalry,, so nuh so that hlis life was for some time despaired or,
and still remains weak and enfeebled, and In vety ihdigent cir-
