An ACT ,Divorcing Daniel Rose firom his IM Ienrietta.

preamble; 'WHEREAS itis represented, that in the month of February, in the yearone thousandeiglt
hundred and six, a marriage was solemnized between Daniel Rose of Prince-Wiliam coun-
ty, anda certain Henrietta White, who was at that time supposed to be virtuous, and a wo.
man of good character ; that in less-than seven months thereafter, the said Henrietta was
delivered ofa mulatto child ; that there are reasons to believe that since her said interinar-
riage, she has permitted a negro slave, the supposed father of the said child, to have a carnal
intercourse with.her.; and that the said Daniel Rose, at the time of his said intermarriage,
was, and always since has been, considered as a man of good character ; and the said Janiel
having petitioned the legislature to be divorced from his said wife :
Daniel Rose dia Section 1..BE it enacted, That thesaid Daniel Hose shall be, and hereby is, divorced
vorcd from his
wife Henrietta. from the said Henrietta, and the marriag aforesaid totally dissolved ; that the said child
be considered as illegitimate, and incapable of inheriting any part of ;he estate of the said
Daniel; that the power of the said Daniel, over the. person and property of the said Henriet-
ta, shall entirely cease ; and she is hereby declared to be a feme sole, and the said Dlniel
no longer bound by any promise or contract hereafter to be made or entered into by her.

Jn ACT to alic. the Ilustinqs Court of'the Borough of Xofolk.
[Passed December 31st, 1806.] -
Section 1. BE it enacted by the General Assembly, That in future, all courts ho!.
den in the borough of Norfolk, for the trial of civil causes, shall be composed of at least
three aldermen ; and that the said courts shall he and are hereby empowered to adjourn from
day to day, until all the business which is before them, shall be dispatched.
Sec.2. All acts and parts of acts contrary to the provisions of this act, shall be and are here.

Sec. 3. This act shall commence and be in force from and after the first day of March
next.

WHEREAS it appears that Elias Edmonds, who acted as deputy sheriff and collector of
the taxes, in a part of the county of Fauquier, for the year one thousand eight hundred, has
never been allowed a credit for his list of insolvencies, by the auditor of public accounts,
which amountedto the sum of sixty-nine dollars, ninety.one cents:
Section 1. BE it therefore onacted by the General Assembly, That the auditor of public
accounts is hereby authorised and required, to issue a warrant or warrants on the public trea.

mount of his list of insolvencies for the year aforesaid, to be paid out of any monies therein.

Section I. BE it enacted by the General Assembly, That the penalty of one hundred dollars,
which was impased by the county court of King-William, on William Breeden, for retailing
goods, wares and merchandlize, without a license obtained from the commissioner of the said
county, shall be, to all intents and purposes, fully remitted ; and the auditor of public ac-
counts is hereby authorised and required to issue a warrant or warrants to the said Willi.
