and the assessment so made shall be sufficient evidence before said conrt to
authorize the rendition of judgment for the amount so assessed.
Sac. 5. That said parties shall commence the tuilding of said bridge
within one year from the passage of this act, sad have the same completed
within five years, and Iu case of failure thereof they shall forfeit all privileges
granted by this act.
Sy:c. 6. That this act take effect Crom insd after Its passage.

CHAPTER LXXXIX.
A IN ACT to provide for tle payment of Captain Miilton Webb's company of
Mounted Volunteer.
SUcTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislatture of the &tate of Thxas, That
the Comptroller be authorized ahd required to settle with the officers and
privates of Captain Milton Webb's company of Mounted Volunteers, in.the
servioe of the State. from the 10th day of April, 1861, to the 15th day of
June, 1861, under an ordinance of the Convention, passed 18th of March,
186l, and by order of Gov. Ed. Clark, and to reg..rd all accounts for pay,
transportation and subsistence, as if the said company had been regularly in
the serrice of the State during said period.
Suc. 2. That this act he in force front and after its passage.

CHAPTER XC.
AN ACT for the relief of the Texas and New Orleans Railroad Company.
SrcTroN 1. B it enacted by the Legislature of the Ntatao  Texas, That
the failure of the Texas and New Orleans Railroad Company to make its
annual report to the Cormptroller, U its operations for the year ending on the
fir.t day of October, 1861, shall not operate as a forfeiture of its charter or
any of its rights under the saute, or any act supplementary thereto, or any
general law  regulating railroad companies, provided said report shall be
iuade within sixty days from the passage of this act.
SEc. 2. That any penalty which may Lave been incurred by said Corn-
painy by such failure be, and the saunt is hereby remitted, provided aid
Railroad Company complies with the provisions of this act, and that this act
take elfect ai be in force from and after its passage.
