A4 JOINT RESOL UTION In relation to' the e8tablishnient 6f an Admiralty Court for the State of Texas, at Galveaton'and such other places on the coast, as commerce requires. SECTION 1. Be it resolved by the Legislature of the State of Texas, That the Government of the Confederate States of America is hereby respectfully requested to establish an Admi- ralty Court for the State of Texas, at the city of Galveston, and such other places on the coast in this State as commerce re- quires. SEC. 2. That the delegates of the State of Texas in the Congress of the Confederate States of America be and they are hereby requested to use all proper efforts to accomplish thy oh. ject indicated in the foregoing resolution. And that the Gover- nor cause a duly certified copy of these resolutions to be trans- mitted to said delegates. - And this joint resolution shall be in force from its passage. Approved April 6, 1861. CHAPTER IX, JOINT BESOL UION providing for the turning over of the property now in the possession of the State (lately taken from the United States. Government) to the Oo0ifederate Stages Government. 1. Be it resolved by the Legislature of the State of Texas, That the officers and agents of this State having in charge or possession any of the property recently taken from the Govern- ment of the United States, shall, on demand, turn the same over to the agent or agents appointed by the Confederate States Government to receive and take receipts for the same, accompa- nied by schedules specilying each item and its condition, and such officers or agents of the State shall file said receipts and schedules in the Comptroller's office 'as soon as practicable. Prouided, that the Government of the Confederate States assumes all ,responsibility to the Government of the United States for all the property received under the provisions of this resolution. 2. That this resolution take effect and be in force from and after its.passage. Approved April 6, 1861.
