I. lIe it 0lacted by the ,,nate and Iouse of lepre- entatives of the Jepublic of l'exas, in Coires assembled, That Iterealler no slave or slaves or induitared free person or per- sons, in the possession and ownership of the bona fide master, or heir or heirs, legatee or legaitecs of any intestate or deceased person, shall be silject to ibreed sales, by virtue of tany writ of venditioni exponas, fte,i facia,, or execution of any kind ; Provided, al- 'ways, That the provisions of this act shidl not be construed to extend to sales under or by virtue of any final decree or judg- ment of the courtsof competent jurisdiction, where the same has been made or obtained in conlbrmitV to I aw, ordering the sale and distribution of the property of any 'intestate or deceased person's estate upon petition, as directed, being tiled, prayint for the same; Proided, _Nothing herein shiall protect said prqperty in the pos- session or ownership of defitulters to this Republic.
