AN ACT
To prevent Frauds and Frandulent Conveyances.
Si-c. 1. Be it enacted by the Son ate, and honse of RJepre-
rentatives of the Repnb!ic of Te.ras, in Cong'ress assembled,
That no action shall be brouL,ht whereby to charge any excec-
tor or administrator, upon any special promise, to answer ani-
debt or damage out of his own estate, or whereby to chnr.e ihe
defemdant, upon any special promise, to answer for the debt, de-
fult or miscarriage o another person, or to charge any peron.

upon any contract fbr the sale of lands, slaves, tenements or lie-
reditaments, or the making any lease thereof fbr a longer term
than one year, or upon any agreement which is not to be per-
formed within the spacc of one year from the making thervol
untess the promise or agreement upon which such action shall
be brouglt, or some memorandum thereof shall be in writing,
and signed by the party to be charged therewith, or some person
by him thereunto lawfully authorized.
Silc. 2. Be it further enacted, That every Lift, grant or
con vewance of lands, slaves, tenements, hereditamnenits, Woods or
chattles, or of any rent, coommo or profit out of the same, by wrl-
tinff or otherwise, and every bond, suit, judgment or executtiol
had or made and contrived of malice, fraud_,covin, collusion or
guile, to the intent or purpose to dela,, hinder or defraud credi-
