tesentative. of the Republic of Te.as in Ceongess assemubled
That hereafter it Ahall be the duty of the Sderettiry of War, of
the receipt of the duly autheniticated and final muster rolls f the
militia that have or may be employed i the public servicei  ac.
cordance with law, to direct the payment of such troops out of
the proper appropriations, by an- army paymaster, at the most
convenient points for thftn to attend in the section of coutitry in
which they reside,
'SECTION 2. Be4ifurther resolved, That the militIa ema.
played in the campaign against the hostile Indians and Mexicans
under the qommand of General Rusk, and others, who have
mounted, armed and equipped themselves, shall receive the same
pay, except bounty lands, as is allowed in the Act defining the
pay of mounted riflemen, approved 10th Deeembet, 1836, any
law to the contrary notwithstanding.
