CHAPTER 59.
AN ACT to repeal Sections 1075 and 1083 of the Code of Tennessee, requiring quarterly
settlements to be made by the Secretary of State as Internal Improvement Commissioner,
with Turnpike Companies.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of
Tennessee, That sections 1075 and 1083 of the Code, be and
the same are hereby repealed, and that hereafter the Sec-
retary of State, as Internal Improvement Commissioner,
shall only be required to make semi-annual settlements with
the Internal Improvement Companies in which the State is
the owner of stock.

AN ACT to amend Section 2145, of the Code.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of
Tennessee, That section 2145 of the Code of Tennessee,
slaves o be pu- be so amended as to read, every person whose duty it is to
lished in new.- sell land or slaves in a fiduciary capacity or under judicial
papers      orders or process, shall in the absence of any special pro-
visions on the subject, in the authority under which he acts,
publish such sale at least three different times in some news-
paper published in the county where the sale is to be made,
the first of which publications shall be at least twenty days
previous to the sale.
