An Act to incorporate the Memphis and Charleston Rail Road Company. SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the incorporation. State of Tennessee, That for the purpose of establishing a communication by railroad between Memphis, Tennessee, and Charleston,' South Carolina, the formation of a com- pany is hereby authorized, which when formed shall be a body corporate by the name and style-of the Memphis and Charleston Rail Road Company; and by said corporate name shall be capable in law to buy, receive by gift, hold, sell and convey real and personal estate, as hereinafter pro- vided; make contracts, sue and be sued, to make by-laws, and to do all lawful acts properly incident to a corporation and necessary and proper to the transaction of the business for which it is incorporated; and to have and use a common
