Sec. 1, Be it enacted by the General Assembly ofthe State of Tennessee, That hereafter it shall be Slave-bolders to work o the duty of persons owning slaves to work on roads roads. in the same way that-other persons are compelled by law to work on roads. Sec. 2. Be it enated. That hereafter the county court shall furnish the overseers of reads when ne- County co. cessary with powder, and boting instruments to to furnish o- enable them to put their respective roads in pro. verseer', with per repair and the overseers shall give bond and porwrto ad security to apply the materials so furnished to no other purpose except the improvement of roads.
