CHAPTER XIX.
AN ACT for the relief of Sampson, a free manof
colour.
Se. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly.
of the state of Tennessee, That Sampson afree pan
of colour, of the county of Humphreys, and his
wife Nancy, be known and called Sampson Black
and Nancy 13ack, and that they may hereafter be
legally known by said name of Sampson Black and
Nancy Black,, may so sue and be sued in that
name, receive title to, and convey any estate or pro-
perty.

CHAPTER XX.
AN ACT for the relief of Wiliam Reynolds.
SEC. 1. Ile it enacted by the general asemb q of
the state of Tenuessee, That the pri'pietors of the
turnpike road leading across the paint mountain,
commencing at SheIrilil's cove,& terminating at the
pai.t rock, %hall noterectany gute for the taking
of toll on said road, at any point east of the place
where William Reynilds'road leading from War-
rensburg across - the same mountain to the paint
rock, but that the proprieters of both turnpikes
shall erect their gates west of the point where the
two roads intersect each other.
