Be it enacted by the General JOssembly * f he State of Tennessee, That the fourth section of the above-reci ted act be, and the same is hereby, re- pealed ; and hereafter, if any persin or persons shall lire to any slave or slaves the time of such slave, the. person or persons so offinding, shall forfeit and pay not less than one dollar, nor more than tw o dollars for cach and every (lay such slave or slaves shall have hired his, her, or their time, and been absent fron the owner oi* owners. to be recovered by 'any person who will suefor the same, one half to the use of the person suing, aind the other half to the use of the coun- ty in which the suit may be breught. .,JAMES FENTRESS, Speaker of the House of Representatives.
