A. D. 1s62.  VII. That the sum of two hundred, and fifty thousand dollars, received
by Wilmot G. DeSaussure, as Agent of the State, from the Confederate
Disposition of
ppragn    Government, and by himt paid into the Treasnry of this State, under the
Y Co gres. resolution of the Confederate Congress relative to the conflagration in the
city of Charleston, on the eleventh day of December, one thousand eight
hundred and sixty-one, and also all such other sums of tnoncy as may be
received from the Confederat6 Government during the present year, and
placed in the Treasury, be subject to sueh appropriations as may he made
by the General Assembly of this State.

seventh year of the sovereignty and independence of the State of

OCTOBER, ONE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED AND SIXTY-TWO.
I. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives, now me
and sitting in General Assembly, and by the authority of the same, That
the following sums be, and they are hereby, appropriated for the payment
of the various officers and expenses of the State Government, that is to
E ecutive De6 say: In the Executive Department: For the salury of the Governor, three
Pacemenlt. thousand five hundred dollars; for the Private Secretary of the Governor,
fifteen hundred dollars; for the- rent of the Governor's House in Columbia,
in case he should not occupy the house offered, him by the Legislature,
twelve hundred dollars; for'the Messenger of the Governor, two hundred
and fifty dollars; for the contingent fund of the Executiveb)epartment,
ten thousand dollars, to be subject to the draft of the Governor, and to be
accounted for annually by him to- the Legislature; for the furnishing of
the Governor's'House in Columbia, one thousand five hundred dollars.
