II. That in all actions brought for the recovery of damages, under the A. 1. 1850.
provisions of this Act, the recovery of two dollars shall in all cases carry full

III. That an annual tax of one dollar be, and is hereby, imposed upon
every dog kept by a slave, to be paid by the owner of such slave; and it
shall be the duty of every owner of such slave or slaves to make annually a
return to the Tax Collector of his or her Distriot, at the time of making his
or her general tax return, of every dog so kept by his or her slave or slaves; Te ax o does
or failing so to do, such owner shall be liable to a fine of two dollars for each
and every dog so kept and not returned, to be recovered by oeation, as in
other cases of default in making tax returns.
IV. That an annual tax of two dollars be, and is hereby, imposed upon
every dog kept by any free negro, or other free person of color, and it shall

I. Be it enactedt by the Senate and House of Representatives, now met
and sitting in Oenoil Assembly, and by the authority of the same, That
all the right, title and interest of the State, in and to a certain tract of land
of William A. Cauble, deceased, which is subject to escheat, containing Escheatofland
two hundred acres, more or less, situate in Greenville District, and bounded  Auble.
by lands of William A. Crowder, and others, be, and the same is hereby,
vested in Peter F. Sudduth, his heirs and assigns forever.
