AN ACT TO INCORPORATE CERTAIN SOCIETIES, AsSOCIATIONS AND COM- No. 4129.
rANIES, AND TO RENEW AND AMEND THE CHARTERS OF OTHERS.
I. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Reprosentatives, now met
and sitting in General Assembly, and by the authority of the same, That the
officers and members of the following Societies, Associations and Compa-
nies, to wit: The Newberry Agricultural Society, the Catawba Lodge, Indo-  Names of
pendent Order of Odd Follows, of Lancasterville, the Oaks Club of Charles- societies.
ton, the Society Hill Library Society, the Eutaw Encampment, No. 2, Inde-
pendent Order of Odd Follows, of Columbia, Hibernian Society of Colum-
bia, Sumter Lodge, No. 23, Independent Order of Odd Follows, the Cer-
man Ladies' Benevolent Society of'Charleston, be and the same are hereby
declared and constituted bodies politic and corporate, by the name and style
-to oech of them herein before respectively assigned.
II. That the said Societies, Associations and Companies, according to Rights and
their respective by-laws, shall have slecession of officers and members, and privileges.
shall have power respectively to make by-laws not repugnant to the laws of
the land, and to have, use, and ep a common seal, and the same to alter
at will, to sue and be sued in any court of this State, and to have and enjoy
every right, power and privilege incident to such incorporations; and they
are hereby empowered to hold, retain, possess and enjoy all such property,
real and personal, as they may now severally have and possess, or be citi-
tled to, or which shall hereafter be given, bequeathed or devised to them
respectively, or in any manner acquired by them; and to sell, alien and
transfer the same or any part thereof; Provided, That the amount so held   rroviso.
