or exchange, or have inc his, her or tieir prssession, on the first day of Jarvay,
in the year of our ciLrd ite thousaid eight hniidred and forty -eight, citlier on
his, her or their own capiftl, or horrowed capital, or on account of any persorn

person, not resiident in this State, shall sell or expose for salo, in any bouse,
stall or public place; ten dollars per day, for represeuting publicly for gain and

any kind whatever, to be paid into the lands of the Clerks of the Court, re-
