STABLES, AND CERTAIN FEES or CLERKS.
Feftf ras    1. Be it enacted, by the Honorable the Senate and House of Rpreosenta-

same, That so much of the Acts passed on the twenty-first day of December,
in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty-nine, as pro.
seribes the fees of Sheriffs, Magistrates, and Constables, be, ind the sane
is hereby repealed, and that the several fees hereinafter mentioned, and no
others, shall be received and taken by the said oflicers.
Feir of If. Sherifs.-For entering. every writ, process, execution, or other paper,

cents; for serving every writ, not otherwise herein specified, or summons ih
power or partition, besides mileage, one dollar; for serving every summary
process, when the debt or demand is Over fifly dollars, rule, notice, or order of
c6urtrbesides mileage, one dollar; in all cases of summary process, where
the dbbt or demand is-under fifty dollars, only one half the costs allowed by'
this Act Shall- be charged  mileage from  cou rt house to deforidant's or wit-
ness's residence, or place where fbund, going, but not returning, five cents
p6r mile ; for bail bond, or other bond or mortgage taken oflicially, one dolw
lar commitment atid release of each prisoner, fifty cents; serving each
venire for -grand jury, ten dollars; for petit juries, twcnt) dollars ; serving
subpana writ, fifty cents, and mileage on each ticket; serving bench or
other warrants, suire facia, from court of sessions, or writ of attachmont for
contempt, besides mileage, one dollar and fifty cents; search for persons or
goods, not found, and returned on the execution of non est inventils, or nulke
bona, fifty cents; dieting white persons, thirty cents per day; dieting btlaves
or free negros, eighteen cents per day; executing convict, in-
cluding all charges for burying and other expenses, twenty dullars;
