Pleas and General Sossions for the District, containing the names
of the informer and accused, the Magistrate and frercholders, to-
gother with those of the witnesses, and the evidence they Tave,
which coly shall be fled in the oflier of the Clerk, for the use of the
Court of General Sessions. Any Magistrate may by wariant or
information before him, or being otherwisc satisfied thereof, order
to be seized and publicly burned or destroyed, any gaming tables,
faro bank or other bank whatsoever Used for.gaming, known un-
der any other deonoi nination, and may in like manner apprehend
any keeper thcreof, who shall be liable to be tried as a vagrant
according to the provisions hercin, and on conviction, shall be
punished in like manner.
Sec. 14. Any Magistrate according to the established forms on neesvithin
of proceeding, for offees against this Stato (at the expense of n   urStcuons
the United States, and to be tried by- such Court of the United
States as may have cognizance of the ofIlbce,) may order the ar.
rest, imprisonment or bail of a person charged with a crime or
offence against the United States, alleged to have been committed
within this State; and a copy of the process shall be returned as
speedily as may be into the oflice of the Clerk of such Court, to.
gether with the recognizanes of the witnesses for their jppenr
ane to tcstify in the case, which recognizances any Magistrate
may requiro on pain of imprisonment ; and if such offender be
commlitd within a District in which tho offence cannot b tried,
the Magistrate ordering the arrest shall issue his warrant for the
removal of the offender and witnesses to the proper District.
SEe. 15. On complaint made to any Magistrate, of the non. Jurisdiction in
payment of any debt or other demand not exceeding twenty dollars, civil ces.
arising on any contract whatsoever, he shall be authorized to issue
a summons under his hand and seal (together with a copy thereof)
directed to any Constable, wherein shall be plainly expressed the
namas of the parties, the time and place of appearing,' together
with the nature of the demand, and if it be on contract, a precise
copy of the note, bond, book account, or other d emand set tip,
shall be indorsed or annexed thereto, and shall reijuire such officer
to summon the defendant before him or some other lagistrate,
by delivering to the defondant a copy of such summons or leaving
the same at his usual place of residence at lost five (lays before
the day of trial, unless at the time of such complaint, the plaintiff
shall make oath that he is apprehensive of losing his debt by such
delay, a record whereof shall be made, and in such case, such sum.
