CHAPTER XIII.
AN ACT TO REDUCE ALL ACTS AND CLAUSES or ACTS, IN RELA.
TION TO THE PATROL OF THIS STATE, INTO OKE ACT, AND TO
ALTER AND AMEND THE SAME.
SEc. 1. Be it enacted, by the Honorable the Senate and House
of Representatives, now met and sitting in (Jeneral Assembly',and
by the authority of the same. That all free white aliens, or trun- Aies alnd Ml-

siont persons, above the age of eighteen, and under the age offorty. liable to Patol
five years, who have resided or may hereafter reside in this State, (utY, &C.
for the term of six months, shall immediately thereafter, he and are
hereby declared to be subject and liable to do and perform all Pa-
trol and Militia duty, which shall or may be required by the Con-
manding Officer of the Beat or District, in which such alien or
transient person shall reside, and be subject and liable to all pains
and penalties inflicted by this Act, fur the non-performance of
Patrol or Militia duty; any law, usuage, or custon, to the cuntrary
thereof, in any wise notwithstanding; that no oflicer, either of
infantry, cavalry, or artillery, shall be excused from the performn.

officer or private resides: Provided always, that nothing con-
tained in this Act, shall be construed to extend to or affect in any
